Saleya Vest
The Saleya Vest is a cropped, fitted vest perfect for layering over shirts and summer dresses. It features an allover mock cable pattern and neat ribbed hems and button-bands finished with an Italian bind-off. Inspired by the lavender and lilac sold at the Cours Saleya in Nice, the Saleya vest would feel right at home at a farmers’ market shopping for Niçoise delicacies.
The front and back of the vest are knit from provisional cast-ons and joined at the shoulders using a Kitchener seam or 3-needle bind-off. Stitches are picked up and knit for the collar and the collar is sewn down folded. Stitches are picked up along the sides of the vest for 2 button-bands. The provisional cast-ons at the front and back of the vest are undone and a ribbed border is knit on each section.
Note that the mock cable pattern is charted only.
