Salt Cedar Shawl was designed with the nature I’m surrounded by in mind. Just over the arroyo and down the dirt road grows a section of salt cedar trees or Tamarisk as its known in New Mexico. Many farmers and ranchers try to remove this invasive plant but to me it adds to the beauty of the landscape.

Alternating stockinette sections and spiral stitch sections using a different weight of yarn, creates a subtle change in the fabric. With these sections the shawl is very flexible in size.

YARN
Approximately 510 yds / 466 m of a worsted weight yarn and 610 yds / 557 m of a sport weight yarn held together. These yarns held together will create an aran or light bulky weight yarn.
