Salthill Shawl
About:
Do you find yourself dreaming of a getaway? Maybe a summer one, along the coast, complete with sun, cool breezes and the sea meditatively lapping along the shore. This nautical shawl was inspired by just that. Salthill is a small seaside resort town on the Northern shore of Galway County in Ireland. Visitors can find themselves gazing at the harbor city of Galway and the Aran Islands. The beach alternates between stretches of sand and several series of rocky points. The perfect place for picnics, family time, a leisurely stroll, or sea life searches in the pools of water left behind by a low tide.
This shawl is easy enough for a confident beginner but engaging enough for a more advanced knitter. Although this pattern is written with two colors in mind, it could be easily adapted to feature more, particularly if you are stash busting. Wherever your travels or daydreams may take you, it’s my hope that this shawl brings you comfort, quiets the mind in the making, and eases the chill of a cool day, no matter where your adventure takes you.
