Salute Socks

This sock pattern is part of my ‘Palaces of the Grand Canal’ collection. It is inspired by the 600th hundred basilica of Madonna della Salute. A majestic church on the Canal Grande, dedicated to the Virgin Mary patron of health.
The sock is built from the calf down with a small colorwork accent that wants to mimic the golden ball structure that you can admire just by the basilica.
The heel is a revisitation of the traditional heel flap and gusset.

On the construction
This pattern provides a calf-down construction, with heel flap and gusset. If you are using the magic loop technique, the needles are referred as N1 and N2, If you use DPNs please treat N2 as N2 and N3.
