Samantha the Patchwork Doll
Pattern is in English using US terms, my finished doll was about 10 inches tall, but this will vary depending on yarn and tension.
Pattern is classified as Advanced Beginner/Intermediate
Materials:
Weight 4 yarn in 4 colors
220 yds of your main color – I used Red Heart Super Saver in Minty and I have use Bernat Baby Velvet in Emerald
50 yards of your bow color- I used Red Heart Super Saver in Raspberry and Bernat Baby Velvet in Purple Pansy
Yarn scraps for the patches (optional) and smile
3.5mm and a 5mm crochet hook
For Baby Velvet I use a 3.5mm but a 4.0 or 4.5mm for Velvet (weight 5)
Buttons for eyes- 5/8’’ though any size around that will work
You can also crochet circles/use felt in place of buttons.
Optional: small button for belly button
Embroidery thread to sew on buttons
Sewing needle
Fiberfill
Darning needle
Abbreviations
Sc: single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
Dc: decrease
Inc: increase- sc twice into the same stitch
Dec: decrease- sc two stitches together
MR: magic ring
MC: main color
FO: fasten off
Ch: chain
BLO: back loop only
Ss: Slip stitch
Notes:
This doll is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated.
Buttons are considered a safety hazard, so keep that in mind if you are gifting this doll to a small child.
The stitching takes a long time; keep that in mind when working on this. I suggest doing it in small sections.
Chains do not count as stitches
