This vest pattern accompanies the Skill Building article on picking up stitches along a selvedge edge. The buttoned front will give you lots of practice. A cable pattern on the fronts and back make it a bit more interesting to knit.

About the yarn…Kim McBrien Evans, who taught at the retreat in Charlotte is also a dyer (Indigodragonfly) and brought yarn to sell. I loved the names of her yarn, particularly this one. As a lifelong lover of Peeps and having a degree in English literature, I had to have it.

About the buttons…I am a collector of Bakelite buttons, and I selected a variety of shapes and colors of .5” buttons from my collection since I plan to keep this vest!
