Samurai Kimono
A take on a vintage garment, the Samurai kimono is thoroughly modern. Sleek and swinging with the breeze, this open front, semi-open sides is a statement piece. Not meant to meet in the front, it should be worn to wow over black silk or torn jeans. This garment moves with you, and given the duster length is easy to wear over anything (well, maybe not a great look for over shorts!)
Designed in stockinette with the yokes, sides and hem in seed stitch, but easily could add your own favorite texture. Try sand stitch!
Select special buttons for the side closure and add a couple to the front collar for an oriental effect. To finish the kimono look, you could add a large button or brooch at the center back as a personal symbol.
Designed especially for Shibui Rain. This special cotton DK yarn has a beautiful hand and drape. It truly moves with you. I recommend steam pressing to smooth out the stitches. Gratitude to Shibui for the yarn support!
