The fog in San Francisco doesn’t roll in gently. It rushes in a little before sunset, bringing with it a stiff breeze. Mark Twain is attributed with the quote “The coldest winter I have ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.” Even though there is no written record of him making the comment, the sentiment holds true for me. This wrap is perfect for both an evening out in bone-soaking cold of Fog City and under a jacket in icy East Coast winters. The design is deceptively simple. The piece is all stockinette with a narrow garter border on each side to reduce curling. The shape is created not with decreases and increases but by a gradual change in needle guage: large on the ends, working down to small at the neck and ending up back on the large ones.
