Sanctuary Moon is a sideways-knitted hat with supersized braided cables around the base. When it’s finished it looks like Pricess Leia’s hair in Return of the Jedi, on Endor (aka The Forest Moon, aka The
Sanctuary Moon).

This is a hat for people who hate double-point needles but hate the small-circumference knitting alternatives, too. The hat is knit entirely back and forth, with short rows to shape the crown. The front and
back are then grafted together seamlessly. Afterwards, you’ll have to do a little knitting in the round to finish the edge at the bottom, but then you’re done! It’s a quick-knit one-skein project!
