Sand Art Cowl - DK
The Sand Art Technique used to make the Sand Art Cowl uses German Short Rows (GSRs) to create waves of color, giving the knit fabric visual movement and interest.
This project is very much a choose your own adventure in that you can choose any where from 5 to 12 colorways, change colors as you please, and make the waves of color thick or thin, long or short. It’s all up to you and your creativity.
The Sand Art Technique makes each and every cowl you make unique.
This is a recipe pattern that makes learning the technique fairly simple. I am always happy to answer any question you may have.
Gauge is not super important. My DK cowls measured flat are approximately: 12L x 10W inches (31L x 26W cm)
Yardage will depend on how long your make your cowl, which means it may vary from the suggested yardage noted in this pattern.
Need a GSR refresher? There are lots and lots of tutorials on YouTube.
