Sand Cable Cowl
This is a shaped cowl that can use magnet snaps or large snaps and decorative buttons. It’s worked sideways, rather than in a tube going up.
The beginning and end of the cowl is worked with short rows, so the cowl lays flat on your chest.
I made this cowl several years ago. I don’t know how much yarn it took. It was just one skein of yarn.
The buttons are from Hobby Lobby (link is in the PDF)
I knitted it for my neck: 15 inches/38cm
At the center back, it measures 7.5 inches/19cm
Center front, over the button placket, it measures 7 inches/18cm
This pattern was written after knitting the cowl. (I originally planned to make this just for myself; now I wanted to share it.) If you find an error or something that doesn’t make sense, please let me know! This has not been test knitted!
It matches Mrs. Claus’s Red Bonnet:
