Sand Snake
Sand Snake is a worsted weight cable cardigan with simultaneous saddle sleeves, a V-neck, and princess shaping. First you knit the saddles, then pick up stitches for the back and fronts, eventually picking up the stitches for the top of the sleeve cap. Body and sleeves are worked simultaneously until the underarm, where the sleeves are put on waste yarn to be finished top-down later, while the body is worked flat to the end. The ribbed buttonband is then knit and finished with an I-Cord bind off.
It is designed to fit with 1-2”/2.5-5.1cm of positive ease and that has already been incorporated into the pattern. For example, the actual bust measurement of the size 34”/86cm is 35.5”/90.2cm.
Modeled garment is a 34”/86cm shown on a 33”/83.8cm high bust and a 34”/86cm full bust.
The cable pattern is charted only and is the same for all sizes.
Cable gauge is more important than stockinette.
