Surf’s up, beach lovers and fiber friends! Summer is here, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to blend your love for crochet with the laid-back vibes of a beach vacation. ‘A Day at the Beach’ is a large throw blanket that captures the essence of sunny days and sandy toes, all while keeping you as cozy as the ocean breeze.
We’ll start with a seagull standing proudly on a surfboard that’s wedged upright in the golden sand. In the background, an impressive sandcastle stands tall, while gentle beach waves roll in. This pattern is not just a project; it’s a celebration of all things summer, beach vibes, and nautical charm.
Why should this pattern be your next crochet adventure? Well, let me sea! Firstly, the “A Day at the Beach” blanket is perfect for bringing a touch of the seaside into your home, no matter how far from the ocean you might be. The delightful scene of a seagull on a surfboard, complemented by a sandcastle and ocean waves, evokes memories of carefree beach days and the soothing sound of waves crashing on the shore.
This pattern is 60x90 squares and uses Cream, Tan, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Light Teal, Medium Teal, Soft White, Yellow, Blue, and Orange. Exact yardage for each color provided in the pattern and appendix.
Skill Level: C2C is ideal for advanced beginners. As this project contains frequent color changes, I suggest a slow-and-steady approach. This pattern assumes you already know how to crochet the C2C stitch and can read a C2C pattern, however, a link to a full C2C video tutorial is included in the notes section of the pattern.
