Quickly becoming one of my favorite indoor wraps, the Sandstone Pocket Wrap is a comfortable accessory that is knit in one piece from pocket to pocket. The two stitch I-cord edges and strategic use of garter stitch allow it to lie flat with attractive braid-like side borders. The pockets are folded up and seamed according to detailed instructions. For an adventurous beginner this pattern includes several techniques worth learning. The wrap is very warm, light and cozy and perfect for inside or outside wear. To adjust its warmth it may be styled hugging the neck or folded into a shawl collar. The length, which can be increased by about 3” if desired, is just right for sitting or standing. The suggested yarn has a generous 494 yards per skein, requiring only 2 skeins (with two yarns held together), so be sure to check your selected yarn for yardage. Garter, mini cable rib and reversible sand stitch patterns produce a pebbled texture, while the doubled fingering yarn adds a marled effect.
