This fitted racerback tank is meant to be worn over and over again. With negative ease and a simple silhouette, this summer staple may make your other knits jealous. Play with colors in a striped version or keep it simple with a solid; either way, you’ll wear the shit out of this top.

Gauge
20 stitches and 32 rows per 4”/ 10cm in stockinette stitch, wet blocked.

Note: If your row gauge is off and you’re getting fewer rows per inch, your yoke will be too long. In this case, you’ll have to make modifications (like making your increases closer together) to ensure your tank fits correctly.

Yarn
Any sport/DK weight yarn that gets you gauge.

Solid Version/Total Yardage: Approximately 295(360, 445, 515, 555)(695, 792, 890, 1000) yards 270(330, 406, 470, 508)(635, 725, 815, 915)m.

Construction
This tank is knit from the top down. You’ll knit the front panel flat and separately knit the back panel flat. Then, you’ll join in the round, casting on stitches for the underarm. You’ll knit the body in the round and decrease for the waist shaping. At the end, you’ll add the i-cord straps and edging to finish off the tank.

Techniques
Applied I-Cord, Three-Needle Bind Off, Picking Up Stitches, Backwards Loop Cast-On, Decreases, Horizontal Seaming (minimal, to tidy up straps)
