This is a pattern for a light and lacy knit scarf, with an optional bead crocheted edging. It would make the perfect spring/summer/fall accessory. It is made using a little known, very open lace stitch and fingering weight yarn. It is a fairly intricate lace despite how it looks. There are instructions contained within the pattern for the bead crocheted edging (which is very easy, providing you know how to do a single crochet stitch.)
Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a working knowledge of knitting, purling, and lace knitting), for scarf.
Beginner + for the optional crocheted edging (assuming that you know how to do a single crochet)
The scarf is knitted in light fingering weight yarn on size #3 needles, and is shown in the sample with the bead crocheted edging.
The sample shown here was expertly pattern tested by Sandra Amerine, who can be reached at: amerine.sandra@yahoo.com, and who is known on Ravelry as (“the) CraftHag. The sample was knit using Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in colorway, Huron.
