A Cheery Santa Hat in several different sizes and a few custom options to really make this hat your own!

This pattern uses Starting Double Crochet instead of a CH 3. Although I’ve put in a note for those who can’t do a SDC, I highly recommend finding a tutorial on this stitch as it really helps give a more seamless look.

An Adult sized hat made in Red Heart Super Saver will use close to one skein. You can get several hats out of the large Bernat pipsqueak skein (including pom poms).

In this pattern I use Bernat Pipsqueak yarn to make the pom pom and trim. If you do not wish to make the pom pom out of this (as it can be messy) you will need to get a skein of white medium weight yarn.

After I’ve attached the pom pom to the hat i wrap a cellophane bag around the pom pom and tie with scrap yarn to cut down on accidental shedding on hat, cloths, furniture.
