SANTA HAT KNITTING PATTERN

This is a pdf knitting pattern, written in English, using standard US terminology, for you to knit a worsted weight Santa Hat photo prop in sizes preemie to adult.

This seasonal hat will add a fun and whimsical element to your winter and Christmas photography sessions but please always remember to use this prop with supervision.

SIZES: Preemie / 18” Doll, Newborn, 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, Toddler / Small Child, Large Child / Teen, Adult

This pattern is well-suited to a beginner or an intermediate knitter as it contains instructions to knit this hat flat as well as in the round.

It requires worsted weight yarn on 5mm (US8) needles. You will need to know how to cast on and off, knit, purl, and knit two stitches together and will require 50 - 210 metres (55-230 yards) of yarn, depending on which size you’re working up. Amounts for each size are included in the pattern.

MY GAUGE: 17-18 sts + 23-24 rows = 10x10 cms / 4”X4” (depending upon the brand of worsted yarn I’m working with)
