This is a free crochet pattern with video tutorial showing how to crochet the Santa Shay Cosmetic Bag or Hook Pouch, a cute and easy Christmas themed single crochet bag perfect for Christmas shopping or a night out on the town, or if you’re like me, holding your crochet supplies!

Materials:

• 160 Yards of Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn - I used WeCrochet Dishie; 110 Yards of Fiesta Red, 35 Yards of Black and 15 Yards of Bumblebee
• H8/5mm Crochet Hook
• Soft Tape Measure
• Tapestry Needle
• Optional for Lining: Fabric, Zipper, Thread and Sewing Machine - I used a pre-made bag that I get at Hobby Lobby where all the canvas items are, and stuck inside my crocheted bag - it measured 9” wide by 6” tall, and I like to use Silamide thread for sewing

Material Notes:
Yarn Alternatives: Lily Sugar n Cream with G6/4.25mm Hook (because it’s a touch thicker)

I recommend cotton yarn because it’s more durable, and this bag will most likely see a lot of use, and being pulled and pushed around in a larger bag/purse.

Other Recommended Yarns (with I9/5.5mm Hook because it’s not as relaxed as cotton): Red Heart’s Super Saver, Caron’s One Pound, Bernat’s Super Value
You will need multiple balls of yarn, or to use both tail ends from each color.

Jewelry pliers are an excellent tool to use to help weave in ends, as cotton yarn can be quite tough on the fingers when weaving in with just fingers and a tapestry needle.

About an hour and a half.

15 SC by 15 Rounds = 4 ⅛”
