Have you ever wondered why you need to be asleep for Santa’s visit on Christmas Eve? It’s not because you’d spoil the magic of Christmas, but because Santa has overindulged on mince pies and split his trousers. I caught him on film and turned it into a fun coaster with room for a mince pie on the side.

MATERIALS:

3.5mm crochet hook

DK Yarn scraps in the following colours for the Santa pictured. You can of course substitute these colours to do a Santa of any ethnicity:

Dark pink
Light pink
White
Black
Red

GAUGE:

Gauge isn’t essential for this project, but if you use DK yarn and hook size above you should get approximately these measurements:

5.5” from top of hat to base of foot.
6” from edge of coaster to edge of pompom.
3.75” in diameter.
