São Miguel Blouse
This pattern is written “measure yourself” style- meaning it can be scaled to any size you’d like using your measurements, with any yarn of your choosing. This pattern does NOT contain specific stitch counts, sizes, yardage, or gauges!
Effortless and breezy, this lacy collared blouse brought to you in collaboration with Hoooked Yarns is quick to work up and is perfect for summer days at the beach! Wear it over tank tops and bralettes, or even layer it with dresses- this shirt is also perfect as a swimsuit cover up! Experiment with different lengths for different looks.
This top is worked from the bottom up, all in one piece, in turned rounds.
After working the main body, the garment is split to make the back panel and armholes. Then the yarn is reattached to create the front right side, shoulder seam, and sleeve, followed by the same process on the opposite side to complete the left front, shoulder seam, and sleeve. The yarn is reattached along the collar to make a simple border and finish the neckline edge.

In the pattern, I say that any weight and fibre yarn and hook size can be used. The sample garments featured in this pattern were made using a 5.5mm hook and 400 m (approx) of Hoooked Somen dk weight yarn to make a US Women’s Size Small. IMPORTANT: Yardage, hook size, and gauge will all vary depending on the size and weight of materials used.
São Miguel is a NOVICE Level Pattern- it requires skills such as using an easy lacy stitch pattern, and working in the round. Its simple construction means it’s great for new crocheters looking to expand their skills and try making garments!
