I made this cardi/bolero in summer 2015. I brought this with me everywhere I went, to a theatre, a restaurant, a friend’s house, a museum, etc. It is so light that I just throw it in my purse. When it’s time for washing, pop it in a washer! I wore and washed so many times, it is now so soft like a linen fabric. I just looove linen yarn!
Loose, dry, open, rustic and soft…. The cardi / bolero has everything I want for a spring/summer item.
It is worked from the top down with contiguous shoulders. The loose sleeves have drop stitches for a breezy and airy touch. The cables on the back and the sleeve are subtle yet eye-catching.
Finished back measurement:
16 ¾ (17.5, 19, 20, 22 )”
42.5(44.5, 48, 51, 56) cm at cross back at underarm.
Designed to be worn with about 2-3” positive ease.
Yarn: Euroflax sport weight, 100% linen, sport/5ply, 270(247 meters) yards/100g
Yardage: 620(690, 780, 870, 1000) yards
567(630, 713, 795, 914) meters
3 (3, 3, 4, 4) skeins
Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows in 4”/10cm with US#6(4.0mm) needle.
Adjust size to get the correct gauge.
Materials: US #6(4.0mm) and #5(3.75mm) needles. cable needle, stitch marker
Once again I had a wonderful opportunity to work with excellent testers. Thank you so much!
