This baptismal towel pattern was developed while I was serving on an Altar Guild in Brunswick GA. Parents were so appreciative of this reminder of their child’s very special day that I published the pattern for other knitters. Sarah Kathryn is the name of the first baby to be gifted with it. Over a period of time knitters have sought out the source of the towel and as a result I am republishing the pattern for online download. Yarns suggeted are Cotton Fleece by Brown Sheep, Louet’s sport weight Euroflax, or HiKoo CoBaSi DK. Towel measures approximately 10” x 14”. Both the symbolic shell, as well as the cross, are knitted right into the towel. One skein of Cotton Fleece will produce two towels. The CoBaSi DK will produce one.
