THE SARGASSO SEA
The Sargasso Sea is a part of the Atlantic Ocean that circles Bermuda and is home to a seaweed known as Sargassum. There are loads of seafaring legends of the Sargasso Sea with confused sailors fearing seaweed meant shallow water and also that the seaweed itself would trap their boats. The Sargasso Sea is now famous for a unique ecosystem because of the Sargassum specifically under for eel species, sea turtles, fish and sea birds above.

DETAILS
This is a fun seamless raglan style design but with a modern boxy fit. This knit is worked top down, in the round, with an easy and very addictive slipped stitch colorwork pattern for the body and sleeves. Exaggerated split high-low hem and cuffs. This is an ideal pattern for a very adventurous beginner or intermediate knitter.

GAUGE
24 sts & 40 rows for 4”/10 cm on US 7/4.5 mm needles in the slipped stitch colorwork pattern. Do remember that this is not your standard gauge as the slipped stitches compress the overall gauge in both width (stitch count) and especially in length (row count). It is very beneficial to work a swatch before casting on.

FIT & SIZE
This garment is to be made with loads of positive ease; I would suggest approx. 10-15” or 25-38 cm of ease but knit what you are most comfortable wearing. This sweater is a very boxy style so meant to be ample in the bust and torso. Super Cozy!

Size 1 = 40”/102 cm, Size 2 = 45”/114 cm, Size 3 = 50”/127 cm, Size 4 = 55”/140 cm, Size 5 = 60”/152 cm, Size 6 = 65”/165 cm, Size 7 = 70”/178 cm. Sizes based on finished bust circumference.

YARN
The Lamb & Kid TRIO (70% Merino, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon), 450 yds/411 m per 100 gram/ 3.53 oz skein. Yarn held double to attain a DK/Worsted weight gauge – do half the yardage if you are using a DK or worsted weight yarn single.
1.) Color A = Avocado. Required 1160 (1305, 1450, 1595, 1740, 1885, 2030) yards or 1060 (1195, 1325, 1460, 1590, 1725, 1860) meters.
2.) Color B = Miel. Required 350 (400, 440, 485, 530, 575, 615) yards or 320 (360, 400, 440, 480, 525, 565) meters.
3.) Color C = Plaid is my favorite color (PIMFC). Required 350 (400, 440, 485, 530, 575, 615) yards or 320 (360, 400, 440, 480, 525, 565) meters.
4.) Color D = Pop Rocks. Required 350 (400, 440, 485, 530, 575, 615) yards or 320 (360, 400, 440, 480, 525, 565) meters.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
• US 5/3.75 mm needles for collar & cuffs.
• US 7/4.5 mm for body, sleeves & hem (needle for gauge).
• 7 stitch markers for raglan denotation plus one distinct st marker for BOR
• I’d also suggest 8 different st markers to isolate increase areas for colorwork to stay on track of where you are in the charts.
• Tapestry needle & 3 pieces of waste yarn for sleeves and front hem.
