This wrap has taken a long time from cast on to its release because of multiple events that life had to offer.
-I cast on early this year, while my husband was undergoing a minor surgery, to keep me calm and my fingers busy while waiting for him and on him. So I stuck to a simple triangle shaping and added colour and texture as I went along to keep it interesting.
-It’s only after his recovery that I added the lace work at the end with a gradient yarn to give it a lighter and maybe brighter aspect too. So in hindsight the wrap seems to have captured my mood during those months.
-I’ve also had to take a break from knitting because of pain in my left hand, mostly around the thumb.
-I’m happy and relieved at the same time to have this one finally out in the world, almost like a “despite all odds” feeling, which it makes it extra special.
-I have named this extra special wrap after my favourite aunt who we lost to cancer on a december day not too long ago.

This is a top down triangular wrap. The body includes some texture using simple knit and purl stitch combinations and some contrast colour for effect. The contrast colour is mainly used to work the lace pattern as well as an applied lace edge bind off.

Finished Measurements: Length between tips: 75” (190cm), depth: 28” (72cm).

Yarn: 650yds (594m) of MC and 580yds (530m) of CC in fingering weight.
Yarns used in sample are MC: ColourMart Cashmere/Cotton/Angora/Merino/Viscose 3/15NM,
CC: Schoppel Zauberball 100, Colourway Hot Iron.

Needles: US size 5 (3.75mm) needles.

Gauge: 20 sts and 34 rows = 4” (10cm) in st st after blocking.

Difficulty: Intermediate.
