Sarutobi is knit from the finger-loop down to the cuff, first flat, then in the round for the cuff. The gauge is slightly looser than regular sock gauge, so for an even smaller size you could drop down a needle size or two.

Though I’ve given three different sizes, the construction of the gloves means that a single size will fit a wide variety of hand sizes. The M/L, for example, fits my hand and a hand a half an inch shorter than mine easily. Palm length is a better indicator of fit in this instance than hand length.

About the name: Sarutobi Sasuke is a legendary ninja said to have lived in the Kansai area of Japan in the early 1600’s. His popularity began increasing in Japanese pop literature in the late 1800‘s. While there is no historical evidence of his existence, he is thoroughly embedded in Japanese storytelling, featured in many novels, movies, video games, manga, and anime.
