This is a toe-up ankle sock with various sizing options for a perfect bespoke fit. Inspired by Sashiko embroidery.

The pattern has sizes between 12-28cm foot circumference and 21-29cm foot length (UK sizes 2-10.5; EU 35-45; US 4-12). It is constructed toe-up, using Judy’s magic cast on and employs stranded knitting throughout. There is a gusset on the instep worked into the pattern and the heel is a standard short-row/turned style with a flap.

This is an intermediate pattern overall and some experience with knitting would be useful. The pattern involves short rows and increases/decreases, as well as the stranded colour work. However, the stranded section is suitable for a knitter new to this type of colour work as it’s a basic pattern that doesn’t have any tied-in floats.

I used Cascade Heritage sock yarn (one ball of each colour) but any 4ply yarn will do to obtain the gauge. The pattern has 36 stitches and 40 rows over 10cm worked in the stranded colour work section.
