Sassenach Collar Shawl
This pattern has been inspired by the Outlander story and the warmth of wool needed in Scotland particularly in the 1700s.

I wanted to create a small shawl that just sits on the shoulders and leaves the arms free.

It is also the perfect size as a childs shawl.

This is a triangular shaped shawl that is knitted from the centre top down and the contrast lace coloured border made to finish the piece.
Its been created in the size here but could easily be made bigger by continuing with the the main body colour to your desired size and then knitting the border.
I haven’t included a gauge chart as its not really necessary for this piece.
The yarn I have used for this is Cascade Eco Plus, a gorgeous 100% Peruvian Highland wool that’s both soft and springy to the touch. A perfect yarn to create a warm woollen shawl, that’s available in a wide range of colours.
