We want to welcome you to the Mystery Hat Knit Along. This was inspired by 2013 Arizona Yarn Crawl.
The picture of a lovely women dressed at the height of fashion in the early 1900’s is not the hat you will be making in the KAL. Give me a sigh….
Now that you know what you are not making, here is some important information about how we will guide you to making a hat that is much nicer.
The Clues will be released on Ravelry on the below dates (time may vary)
Clue 1: Monday, Oct. 14
Clue 2: Friday, Oct. 18
Clue 3: Monday, Oct. 21
Clue 4: Friday, Oct. 25
Clue 5: Monday, Oct. 28
What you will need:
Yarn: 1 Skein of worsted Shepherd’s Wool from Stonehedge Fiber Mill (100% Fine Wool, 4 ozs., 250 yards)
Needles: US Size 8 (5.00 mm) circular needle, 16” long, and one set of US Size 8 (5.00 mm) double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge (Note: If you prefer, you may choose to use 2 circular needles or to do Magic Loop.)
Other Materials: Stitch Marker, Darning Needle, Small Stitch Holder, Cable Needle, Waste Yarn for a provisional cast-on
Gauge: 4.5 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch
