What lady doesn’t enjoy wearing a lovely Spring or Summer hat? Here is your chance to knit your own with my Sassy Sun Hat pattern. The hat is knit in the round with worsted/Aran weight kitchen cotton yarn, the type you use to make towels, with a knitted gauge of4 stitches to an inch/2.5 cm. The hat fits women with a head circumference of 20 to 22 inches/51 to 56 cm.0

I specialize in designing for Beginners, so you’ll find helpful hints included in the pattern:

  1. How to pick up stitches in a way that avoids that telltale, unattractive ridge in the back.
  2. How to change colors when knitting in the round so you avoid that unsightly step known as a “jog.”
  3. How to use single crochet to apply hat brim wire … with a link to my You Tube video demonstrating the technique.

As you can see, I alternate stripes knit in stockinette stitch with stripes done in Seed Stitch. The brim contains narrow stripes, alternating colors with one round each.

I’m always available to answer my buyers’ questions as they work through my designs. Just Email me at the address provided on the pattern.
