Notes From the Designer:
•A sleeveless, open front cardi makes a great beginning piece for new garment knitters.
•Knit flat in pieces from the bottom up with i-cord trim worked as you go, this piece requires minimal finishing, aside from some seaming and picking up stitches for the hood.
•Knit in lace weight yarn on large needles for an open gauge, this piece has wonderful drape and is lightweight enough to be worn for most of the year. Wear it over short or long sleeves; you won’t want to take it off!
•A simple stockinette body provides a great framework for hand-dyed yarns. Knit it in a solid, tonal or variegated yarn; you can’t go wrong with color choice!
•I was watching the original Jurassic Park trilogy while designing this piece, so I named it after Dr. Ellie Sattler, who decreed that when dinosaurs eat man, women will inherit the earth. Ellie represented girl power before girl power became a catchphrase, so it seemed appropriate to name this deceptively simple but functional piece after her.
