Saturday Bread Bakers Mitts
** Effective immediately, the selling price of this pattern less Ravelry fees will be donated to Black Lives Matter in your area. Here is the link for mine in Toronto https://blacklivesmatter.ca**
This will apply to all of my patterns for the foreseeable future.
This is a time when racism in all its horrors is staring us all in the face and we need to address it in our own ways, most notably by examining it in ourselves.
Felted Saturday Bread Baker’s Mitts were inspired by the thick cloth baker’s mitts historically worn hanging from bakers’ wrists ready to pull hot pans from ovens. They are fast and easy to slip on, work well as temporary hot pads, and are fun to swing around your wrists.
The mitts are knit at a loose gauge with hand sized slits, akin to buttonholes, and felted. Felting instructions are included.
Use only pure wool, feltable yarn, either chunky weight, like Cabin Fever Northern Lights, or worsted weight, doubled. Felting instructions are included.
This pattern has been tech edited and test knit.
You’ll find my recipe for Saturday Bread, pictured with the mitts, in my website, in a post about how making bread inspired a knitting pattern.
