Saturn Rain Wrap
Scientists believe that during lightning storms on Saturn, it rains diamonds! While this occurs in the dark depths of the gas giant’s atmosphere, I like to imagine diamonds falling through a dark sky, glittering when they chance to catch the light of the far-off sun. I chose the colors of my wrap based on this idea.
The Saturn Rain Wrap is a gorgeous seamless rectangular wrap that is completely reversible. Alternating rows of two-color brioche and two-color garter stitch form the pattern of concentric diamonds. Lines worked parallel to the edges of the wrap add interest to the stitch pattern and give it an architectural flair. The wrap is worked first in the round, then divided and worked flat in parts.
Pattern is provided in written form. Also provided are links to video demonstrations for the cast-on and the brioche decreases.
Finished Size:
21 in/53 cm width by 74 in/188 cm length
This wrap is quite large, but if you would like to customize it you can modify by working a different number of the 20-row repeats on each side of the wrap.
Gauge
19 sts and 20 rows = 4 in/10 cm in brioche rib stitch knit on the bias.
Gauge is not critical for this shawl but may affect yardage needed to complete the shawl.
