This pattern is for dog and cat lovers who hold a special place in their heart for pets with paws.

Saundra is my rescued German Shepherd dog, she suffers with severe polyarthritis and is currently unable to stand or walk. Its my hope that with continued physical and hydro therapy she will become strong enough to support herself in a mobility cart, and run around on her own.

This pattern began as a collaborative effort with my dear friends in the German Shepherd Lovers group here on Ravelry. Gingerdog took the first leap and turned my chart into a hat , and IrythNY did a bit of redesigning to create a fabulous reversible hat. Smotoexpress brought it all together by coordinating the test knits with Peacock and IrythNY and then writing up the pattern .

skills needed include:
Double Knit cast-on, Double Knitting in the round, Double Knitting in two colors and chart reading (we included links to video tutorials).
basic yardage suggestions:
main color : ~100-125 yards DK or Worsted weight yarn. complimentary color: ~100-125 yards DK or Worsted weight yarn.

This is an average adult size hat ~22.5 inches around, there may be some variance based on your knitting style and yarn choice. Its a great fit, cozy, cute and dont forget reversable !
