This is a crochet PATTERN ONLY (not a finished product) for a blanket using the Overlay Mosaic technique, which uses two basic crochet stitches to create a thick fabric featuring a picture or intricate design.

The blanket is worked with the right side facing at all times. Each row is started on the right and worked to the left, then finished off at the end. There are no color changes within the body of the blanket.

This pattern is beginner friendly, as it explains how to do mosaic (even if you’ve never done it before)! It includes a chart and instructions for reading the chart, as well as written instructions for the pattern if charts are not your thing! It also includes photo tutorials of specialty stitches.

You will receive four patterns - standard mosaic (creates stripes on the back of your blanket) and reversible mosaic (creates a mirror image of the design on the back of your blanket) for both right-handed and left-handed crocheters.

This pattern uses 2 colors of yarn and the example is made with DK (weight “3”). It measures 58” wide x 47” tall, not counting the fringe. This blanket can be made in any weight yarn, but a different weight will result in a different size in the end. The design is 233 stitches wide and 189 rows.

Needed for this pattern:
Color A (design) -- 1350 yards (1900 yards for reversible)
Color B (background) -- 1700 yards (1900 yards for reversible)
Appropriately sized crochet hook
