Sawdust Sweater
The Sawdust Sweater is a top-down seamless knit, using stranded colourwork (only two colours at a time), stocking stitch and ribbing. The sweater has a traditional patterned yoke, which is repeated at the hem and the sleeves. There is a modern twist with a line of circles in a contrasting yarn popping from the yoke.
The entire sweater is knitted in the round, allowing ease of trying on for fit, and is sized by altering the width of the yoke. The pictures shown are size XL.
Bust circumference after separating for the sleeves is 91.5 (98, 104, 110.5) 117, 123, 129.5 cm. The sweater is designed to have some ease.
You will need 637 (682, 728, 774) 819, 865, 910 m OR 694 (743, 793, 842) 891, 941, 990 yards) MC (main colour)
182 (227.5, 273, 318.5) 364, 409.5, 455 m OR 198 (248, 297, 347), 396, 746, 795 yards) CC (contrast colour)
scrap yarn for CCC (circles contrast colour)
For size XL, I used Peer Gynt DK: 9 skeins of MC, 4 skeins CC, (I used “urban chic” - 9080 as the MC and “light grey mix” as the CC - 1021)
NOTE: Peer Gynt is quite a heavy DK yarn, so if you are choosing a standard DK, you may want to go up a needle size, or up a size in the pattern.
