Saxon Braid Scarf
I realize the yarn used is rather vague, but I was going more for designing the cable design than a completed garment/pillow. I just happened to use the design to make a scarf and a pillow!
I wanted a Saxon Braid, but I wanted more than the small designs I was finding. I figured I would be able to find it with more braids, but could not find it. So, I just started with the basic braid and kept expanding it!
This really is an easy cable design, it just looks difficult. Really!
On the pillow I just cast on twice the number of stitches and knit in the round. I used a basic 2 x 2 cable but feel free to use whatever you want on the back. With the chart you do have the “wrong” side rows. Either way you are “knitting the knits and purling the purls” on the resting rows.
This braid would look lovely I believe as the center of an afghan with basic cables on either side. I look forward to seeing what folks end up doing with this design.
Thanks for choosing my pattern.
And, as always, you may gift or sale the end project, I just ask that you give me recognition as the designer.
