Saxon Slipover is worked in the round from the waist upwards as a single piece. The front is adorned with the Irish Saxon Braid and symmetrical twists on a background of reverse stocking stitch. The shoulders are shaped with short rows and then joined with a 3-needle bind off. The neckline opening and armholes are finished with ribbed edges.

Gauge: 22 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] (in stocking stitch on a 4.00 mm [US6] needle).

Suggested needle size: 4.00 mm [US6] circular needle, 3.50 mm [US4] circular needle for waist edge. Work a test/swatch/tension square before you start knitting and ensure that your gauge is correct before you start the pattern. Depending on how you knit, you may need to go up or down half a needle size to meet the gauge. Note that row gauge is very important in this pattern as it dictates the neckline and shoulder shaping.

DANSK

Saxon Slipover strikkes rundt nedefra og op i et stykke. Forstykket dekoreres med den keltiske fletning ‘Saxon Braid’ og symmetriske snoninger på en vrangstrikket baggrund. Skuldrene formgives ved hjælp af vendepinde og strikkes derefter sammen med ‘3-needle bind off’-metoden. Der tilføres afslutningsvis ribkanter til halsudskæringen og ærmegab.
