Treat your feet to a cozy confection! No whipped cream required.

This highly textured pair of unisex socks works from the toe-up with an invisible cast-on (Aggie’s Simple Cast-On) and uses a Peasant Heel (a variation of the afterthought heel), before moving onto a low-calf height leg and short cuff. The Peasant Heel requires no clipping of stitches, only undoing an easy to locate row of stitches that you thoughtfully worked in a contrasting color.

Choose to make the sock in a beautiful indie dye or a commercially dyed yarn, both are a great choice. Self-striping, kettle dyed, or variegated work well with the lush texture of a stitch reminiscent of seersucker.

The pattern is sized for 7-9” circumference, unstretched. If you require greater or lesser sizing you may choose to add or omit stitches in sets of 8: 4 on the top, and 4 on the bottom. If you prefer a very firm sock fabric, go down a needle size (you may have different yardage requirements) and utilize the stitch count for the next size up.
