A note about color inspiration!

A gradient triangle shawl, Scalar holds two strands of woolly wool to produce a squishy, versatile piece. Depending on your color choices, Scalar appears either gradient or marled.

Pattern Notes:
This pattern was originally written using Imperial Stock Ranch Tracie, which is now available on a limited basis. Imperial Stock Ranch has created a newer version of Tracie, called Tracie Too, which comes in new, different colorways.

Either yarn is suitable for this pattern, as you can see in the two examples. The Tracie version (browns) gives a gradient effect. The Tracie Too version (black, white & gray) has a graphic, marled effect.

You will be holding two strands of yarn together throughout this entire project, so make sure to wind your yarn into cakes or 2 separate balls per skein for easier use.

The shawls (as pictured) have not been blocked in order to preserve the garter stitch “squish” factor. Tassels are optional.
