Scaley Dragon Eggs
Crochet Pattern for these beautiful textured dragon eggs in amigurumi - aka plushie! It is an instant pdf download - not a physical item.
This lovely magical item is made in one piece. It is no sew!
The pdf includes instructions for three different sizes.
You should already know how to crochet the stitches listed below before buying this pattern.
This was tested by my amazing team!
Size: 7 inches Large, 5 inches medium, 4 inches small
Difficulty: Medium. An adventurous beginner might be able to do this.
Stitches (US) : sl, sc, inc, dec, blosc, mc, dc
Automatic download for pdf document.
This top quality pattern is 10 pages (5 if you print double sided!) and guides you along with plenty of pictures and tips.
The yarn I used: worsted weight, 4 ply. This looks really great with variegated yarn!
Gauge: 20 single crochet stitches by 22 rows makes a 4x4 inch square.
Because this is a non-wearable item, you don’t need to stress too much about guage as long as your stitches are tight enough that the stuffing doesn’t show.
Suggested Yarn
Yardage: Small takes 60 yards, Medium 110 yards, Large 187 yards
Yardage can vary by person and gauge. These are estimates based on my own use. It is always good to have a little extra just in case!
This is what I used, but don’t be afraid to do your own version!
I used worsted weight, 4ply acryllic yarn. RHSS = Red Heart Super Saver
These are the specific ones I have used in the photos.
Red – RHSS “Cherry Red”
Blue – RHSS “Royal”
Green – RHSS “Paddy Green
The Variegated yarns I used
Red – RHSS Ombre “Hot Sauce”
Blue – Mainstays “Blue Multi”
Green – RHSS Ombre “Green Apple”
Pink and Blue – Carron Simply Soft “Times Square”
RHSS Stripes is another good option.
