Scallop Hat
Scallop Hat is a beginner crochet pattern and can be used as a starter project. It is easy and simple. Many pictures will help you to make the hat easy and fast. You can decorate the hat with any flower (flowers) or crochet appliques - just use my applique or flower patterns and your creativity and imagination. :) The free crochet pattern includes all sizes from preemie and newborn to adult size.
Recommended yarn: medium worsted weight (weight category #4). I used Red Heart Super Saver.
Recommended crochet hook: J 10 (6.00 mm) or suitable size to obtain the gauge.
The gauge: 13 SC in 4’’ (10 cm); 14 rows in 4’’ (10 cm).
The stitches and abbreviations used in this Free Crochet Beanie Pattern: CH - chain, SC - single crochet, DC - double crochet, slip stitch.
SIZES AVAILABLE:
(If possible, measure the head circumference before you decide what size to make - sizes in the list are approximate)
Preemie: 11-12 1/2” (28-32 cm) head circumference
Newborn - 3 months: 13-14 1/2 “ (33-37 cm) head circumference
3-9 months: 15-16 1/2” (38-42 cm) head circumference
9-18 months: 17 - 18 1/2” (43 - 47 cm) head circumference
2-5 years: 18-19” (46 - 48 cm) head circumference
Child to Teenager: 19-20 1/2” (48 - 52 cm) head circumference
Adult: 21-22” (53-56 cm) head circumference
