This cape is worked side to side, so you keep going until it’s big enough to fit the way you want! Models are worked in DK/sport (the stockinette version) and worsted (the garter version). Yardage given is an estimate--you’ll need about 70 yards of DK/sport for each panel or about 80 yards of worsted for each panel. Model shown is a women’s size medium: stockinette version has 13 panels and worsted version has 11 panels + hood and used about 985 yards.

Worked in short rows that give it almost circular shape, the cape is worked first and the hood is worked from picked up stitches along the neck edge in one piece. One seam along the top finishes it off!
