A cardigan in garter stitch with fine lace edges at the sleeves and along the front edge. The special construction allows that you only knit back and forth on the needle and therefore only knit stitches.

The stitches are cast on with Judy’s Magic Cast On according to the measurement that suits your arm length. First, short
rows are worked on the back, towards the sleeves. Then the first rows of the lace pattern is worked at both sleeve edges until the work is divided at the neck. The work continues on the right side.

Lace edges are made on both sides of the work while increases and decreases are made at the neck opening. After this, short rows are made from the sleeve towards the body. The left side is made in the same way. The sleeves are sewn together with Kitchener stitch and the body is knitted to the desired length with lace edges along the front edge. Finish with an Icelandic bind-off.

You can choose to add buttons to your cardigan - the holes in the lace edge can be used as buttonholes. You can also knit a belt or leave it open.
