Scalloped Clouds lacy reversible scarf with pointed edges.

The scarf in the photographs was knitted using 1 x 100gm skein of Violet Green Fine Merino/Mulberry Silk mix (approximate length 400m), in colour Selkie, which is dip-dyed in varying shades of blue.
Any other soft DK yarn or other weight/type of yarn could be used and the tension and size would vary according to thickness, etc.

The scarf is knitted on size 4mm (8) needles and measures approximately 7” over the lacy pattern at the widest part of the scarf. Before pressing, the sample scarf measured approximately 46” long and, after pressing, it measured approximately 54” long. A longer scarf would need more yarn.

The scarf is reversible - the pattern being 9 rows long. The knitting pattern contains both typed instructions and a chart for Rows 1-18, which covers 2 repeats of the 9 row pattern. The scarf has pointed edgings along each side - the amount of stitches increase as the scarf is knitted and returns to the original amount on Rows 8/9 and 17/18. The central lacy Clouds pattern forms a lacy scalloped design.

It is knitted in one piece, so the scalloped edgings at the cast-on and cast-off edges will be slightly different.

The pattern is very easy and quick to knit. It could be made into a shawl by adding more repeats of the central Clouds pattern.
