Scalloped Edge Shawl
This is a Tunisian crochet interpretation of the knitting pattern for Slash Stripe Shawl by Yarnspirations. The inner edge has a selvedge of 3 knit stitches to gently curve the neck edge. The outer edge is scalloped by binding off 2 stitches every 4 rows. For a saw tooth edge, bind off 4 stitches every 8 rows instead.
Use a long colour stripe yarn, or several solid colours of the same yarn to create stripes. the length of the shawl is up to you, keep working till the size feels right.
The stitches used are a Tunisian knit stitch followed by a Reverse stitch in an offset pattern that is similar to knitted Seed Stitch. This creates a fabric with some elasticity. Use a larger hook to create a more open fabric with a loose drape.
Use a Tunisian hook that will hold up to 150 stitches, or a cabled Tunisian hook.
