Scallops and Bacon Tank Top
Every summer wardrobe needs a flowy, sleeveless top!
Enjoy a breezy summer day in this tank top. You’ll enjoy creating the lacy scallops at the hem, then settling in for lots of stockinette in the round - perfect for “tv knitting” or “road trip knitting”!
By the time you get to the gathered, textured yoke, you’re just about done. Finish up with garter-stitch neckline and armhole trim, and your new summer piece is ready to wear!
Sizes are based on the High Bust Measurement (above the fullest part of the bust, tape measure should be high under the arm, but still flat against the chest).
Yarn Requirements:
730 (810, 895, 970, 1040, 1175, 1370, 1480) yds sport-
weight yarn. Sample used Hempathy (34% Hemp / 41%
Cotton / 25% Modal, 153 yds / 50g) in color #77.
Hempathy is labeled as DK-weight, but I find it most comparable to sport-weight yarn. If you must substitute, I strongly recommend finding a sport-weight yarn with significant plant-fiber content (hemp, linen, bamboo, etc) for the closest match.
Other Materials:
US Size 2 / 2.75mm circular needle (or size needed to obtain
gauge)
US Size 3 / 3.25mm circular needle (for armhole trim bind-off)
Set of US Size 2 / 2.75mm dpns (for grafting shoulders)
2 stitch markers
3 stitch holders or scrap yarn.
yarn needle
Techniques Used:
Kitchener Stitch
Decreases (SSK, K2tog)
Knitting into the back loop
Picking up stitches
