Scandinavian Cowl and Headband
This traditional Scandinavian design gives a nod to the traditional colors, but tweaks them a tad. Both the cowl and the headband pattern are included. The headband is knit with yarn left over from the cowl. My samples are knit with Cascade Cloud Nine, one skein each of white, aqua, and deep red. Another worsted weight yarn could be substituted, but make it a soft one. Gauge on headband is slightly tighter than on the cowl, 19 sts=4” and 18 sts=4”, respectively. All needles used were 16” circulars. Techniques include stranded colorwork, optional Kitchener stitch and provisional cast-on, knit and purl in the round. Instructions include charts for colorwork.
