Even before they were everywhere my family has had a thing for these Scandinavian style gnomes. With Christmas fast approaching I decided to make a super giftable gnome that can fit nicely over wine bottles to gift or to keep as decor.

This pattern uses worsted weight yarn for the hat and nose and a bulky for the beard. It is intended to sit atop a wine bottle. Make sure to have a bottle on hand as you make him as not all wine bottles have identical neck sizes. If needed you can add rows in the last four row lengths to make it longer. When done the brim of his hat should fit loosely around the bulk of the bottle.
