The original Dala Horse has been around for many centuries. First it was created by Swedish woodcutters as a toy for their children. As a Scandinavian folk art lover I just couldn’t resist and had to create this Christmas ornament pattern. My kids love horses so I had another incentive to choose this particular animal!

I literally take you step by step through the process of making this ornament. I use a Canon D30 professional camera so all the photos are clear and crisp!

♥ The height and the width of the ornament is 3.7 in (9.5 cm). It can be easily increased by using a thicker yarn.

♥ To work this pattern you need to know the sl st,ch, sc, hdc, dc, treble crochet and double treble crochet, plus some basic embroidery skills.
